Do parents stay during class?
Yes—at first! The first few weeks are designed to help children (and parents!) become comfortable with the classroom, teacher, and routines.
As children gain confidence and settle into the class, it gradually transitions into an independent learning experience. Parents will remain on-site at Wonder Village and are always welcome to watch the class through our observation window.
Many families love this arrangement! It gives parents the opportunity to enjoy a little break, catch up on work or reading, connect with another parent, or spend one-on-one time with a younger sibling on the play floor during regular open play hours—all while knowing they're just steps away if needed.
Is this a preschool?
No. This is a Montessori-inspired enrichment class designed to prepare children for kindergarten through play, routines, and meaningful learning experiences.
However, many families choose this program because it offers the best of both worlds. Some children attend alongside preschool, some use it as their primary enrichment experience before kindergarten, and many homeschooling families participate to provide social interaction, routine, and hands-on learning opportunities.
Our focus is helping children develop confidence, independence, classroom readiness, and a love of learning in a warm, play-based environment.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable play clothes are best! We encourage children to dress for movement, exploration, art, and hands-on learning. Since we occasionally use materials that can get a little messy, we recommend wearing clothes that are easy to play and create in.
Is unlimited open play included with tuition?
Yes! Unlimited regular open play is included for every child enrolled in Confident Learners for the duration of their enrollment.
That means your weekly class is just one part of the experience. Visit throughout the week to continue learning through play, strengthen friendships, and enjoy everything Wonder Village has to offer during our regular open play hours.
What if my child has never been away from me before?
Every child adjusts at their own pace, and that's completely okay! The gradual transition from caregiver participation to independent class time is intentionally designed to help children build confidence in a way that feels safe and supportive.
Our teachers partner closely with families throughout the process, and we'll never rush a child before they're ready. The goal isn't just independence—it's helping each child feel secure, capable, and excited to learn.
